Weather Updates: Monsoon has gained momentum from Delhi NCR to UP-Bihar, know when it will rain in your state

IMD Monsoon Rain and Weather Updates: Monsoon has picked up its pace. On Friday, there was light rain from Delhi NCR to UP and Bihar. People have got relief from the scorching heat. IMD said that the weather is going to remain the same for a few more days. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the national capital is expected to be partly cloudy today. The department said that today the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 40 and 29 degrees Celsius respectively. Earlier on Thursday, the Meteorological Department said that the heat wave here subsided due to light rain and thunderstorm.

Many areas of North India including Delhi have been in the grip of heat wave for a long time. Deaths due to heat stroke have increased. Delhi Police said on Wednesday that the bodies of 50 people have been recovered around Delhi in the last three days.

Weather condition in North India

Western disturbance affected parts of North India on Thursday. Let us tell you that these areas were in the grip of severe heat since June 7. The IMD said that there is no forecast of heat in most parts of the country in the next four to five days. According to the IMD forecast, monsoon is expected to arrive in most parts of central India and northwest India between June 27 and July 3.

The weather office said, “Heat conditions have eased in many parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, north Rajasthan, north Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh today. Under the influence of western disturbance and easterly winds from the Bay of Bengal, scattered to fairly widespread rainfall has occurred over Jammu, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, north Haryana, Chandigarh and north Uttar Pradesh during the last 24 hours. Very heavy rain has occurred at isolated places over Uttarakhand. Hailstorm has occurred at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Punjab.”

Relief from rain in Himachal

Parts of Himachal Pradesh got relief from pre-monsoon rains and thunderstorms, bringing down the mercury by four to five degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours and effectively ending the two-month-long dry spell. According to the weather department, the minimum temperature in Shimla on Thursday dropped to 26.9 degrees Celsius, 2.6 degrees lower than Wednesday. While Kahu in Hamirpur recorded 53.5 mm of rain, Kufri 43.4 mm, Kandaghat 41.6 mm, Rajgarh 37 mm, Dharamshala 34 mm, Solan 30.6 mm, Kotkhai 30.2 mm, Mashobra 29 mm, Shimla 28.5 mm, Jogindernagar 28 mm, Dalhousie 21 mm, Mehari 20 mm, Paonta 19.2 mm, Dharampur 18.6 mm, Narkanda 13 mm, Palampur 12.4 mm, Kasauli 12.2 mm, Naina Devi 10 mm, and Sundernagar 10.1 mm of rain.

The weather department has forecast more rain in the next 24 hours, with the monsoon expected to advance into the state between June 22 and 23. The state was hit by a storm with a speed of 40 to 50 kmph on Thursday, disrupting normal life and affecting power supply and traffic in some parts of the state.
