First of all, let us tell you that according to WhatsApp, currently WhatsApp service has been discontinued on devices running on Android 4 or older and iOS 11 or older versions. Only those devices will get WhatsApp support and updates, which are running on Android 5 or newer and iOS 12 or newer versions. But a big change is going to happen in May next year.
According to WhatsApp’s FAQ page, starting May 5, 2025, WhatsApp will only support iOS versions 15.1 and above, which means iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus users will not be able to use WhatsApp on their devices from May next year.
To continue using WhatsApp on their iPhones, users will need to update to version 15.1 or above. If you run any of the above iPhone models, check for updates in Settings > General > Software Update.
WhatsApp says that one of the main reasons for this change is the new iOS version includes updated APIs and improved technology that WhatsApp relies on to deliver new features.
