WhatsApp users will now have to verify before linking the account to web or desktop. This new feature will soon be available to users all over the world.
Android users of WhatsApp will be able to use their face or fingerprint unlock for verification of WhatsApp web or desktop. At the same time, iPhone users will have to verify their account through Face ID.

This security verification will come when users connect their WhatsApp account to a laptop or PC. Also, this process will be visible before scanning the QR code from the phone.
The company said that this new feature will eliminate the possibility of housemate or officemate linking your account to another device without your knowledge.
WhatsApp has said in a statement that the company cannot access the biometric information stored by the operating system of your device. The company has also said that the new security feature will be launched on the phone with a visual redesign of WhatsApp Web.
