Self Help Group (SHG) member woman annual income one lakh: Modi government’s Lakhpati Didi Yojana is a scheme under which women are given loans without interest. This loan, which is completely interest free, can range from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. The government is trying to create and establish economic empowerment and financial independence among women. There is only one condition to avail the benefit of this scheme, that is that this loan will be available only to those women who are members of Self Help Group (SHG).
Last year, the target of the number of women taking benefits under this scheme was kept at 2 crore, but this year in the interim budget, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced to increase this number from 2 crore to 3 crore. Since here an effort is being made to increase the total income of the woman or the family due to the woman to Rs lakh, hence it was named Lakhpati Didi Yojana.
What are Self Help Groups – Small groups consisting mainly of women living in rural areas, come together to save money and give loans to each other.
