Delhi Budget 2024: Delhi Finance Minister Atishi Marlena made several big announcements while presenting the budget of Arvind Kejriwal government in the Assembly on Monday. After his announcement, all the Aam Aadmi Party MLAs in the Assembly raised slogans of ‘Arvind Kejriwal Zindabad’.

New Delhi. Delhi Finance Minister Atishi Marlena made several big announcements while presenting the budget of Arvind Kejriwal government in the Assembly on Monday. Atishi announced that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government will give Rs 1000 every month to women above 18 years of age. He told that this honor amount will be given under the Chief Minister Mahila Samman Yojana. After his announcement, all the Aam Aadmi Party MLAs in the Assembly raised slogans of ‘Arvind Kejriwal Zindabad’.

Announcing this, Atishi Marlena said, ‘The next principle of Ram Rajya is women’s safety. Being a woman, I am proud to have kept the needs of women at the forefront. Be it electricity and water bills, mohalla clinic, or sending elderly mothers on pilgrimage… we have tried to give a better life to women in comparison to 2014 and 2024.

‘The dream of Ram Rajya has to come true’

Finance Minister Atishi has proposed an allocation of Rs 16,396 crore for the education sector in this budget. He said, ‘It is a matter of pride that the Arvind Kejriwal government is presenting its tenth budget. I am not just presenting the tenth budget, but the picture of a changing Delhi. Kejriwal came as a ray of hope. We all are inspired by Ram Rajya. We are working hard to realize the dream of Ram Rajya.

He also said, ‘Today more than 9 lakh girls are studying in Delhi government schools. 933 girls studying in Delhi government schools have passed NEET and 123 girls have passed JEE examination.

Health budget started with Chaupai of Ramcharit Manas

Atishi Marlena also started the health budget with a quatrain from Ramcharitmanas. He made a provision of Rs 8,685 crore for the health sector in the annual budget. Out of this, Rs 6,215 crore has been kept for maintaining good facilities in hospitals. At the same time, Rs 212 crore has been kept for providing medical treatment through Mohalla Clinic.

Delhi Finance Minister said, ‘For this financial year, Rs 658 crore was allocated to ensure adequate supply of essential medicines in Delhi government hospitals. Rs 400 crore has been allocated for construction of new hospitals and expansion through remodeling of existing hospitals, while Rs 80 crore has been allocated for providing free health services through Delhi Arogya Kosh.

During his speech, the AAP leader also mentioned jailed former Health Minister Satyendar Jain. He said, ‘The mention of Delhi’s health services is incomplete without the name of Satyendar Jain. Just as Ram devotee Hanuman had lifted the mountain of Sanjeevani during the disaster. Similarly, Jainji has revived the health services of Delhi… Today I thank Satyendra Jain ji from the bottom of my heart.
