Sources told Zee Business Channel that the Women’s Reservation Bill has been approved in this cabinet meeting. This bill will be presented in the House on Tuesday at 2.15 pm. This bill has been pending for the last 27 years. Union Minister of State Prahlad Patel has confirmed this by tweeting.
Women Reservation Bill: Provision for 33 percent reservation, may be passed in this session
According to sources, the government will present the Women’s Reservation Bill in the new Parliament. At the same time, it will try to pass the bill in this session. This bill was brought for the first time in the year 1996. In the Women’s Reservation Bill, there was a proposal to reserve 33 percent or one-third seats for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies to increase women’s participation in Parliament. However, at present no information has been revealed regarding what provisions are there in the current bill.

Since 1996, all governments have failed to legalize this bill. This bill was being discussed since PM Modi had talked about women empowerment from the ramparts of the Red Fort in the year 2022. After this, PM Modi has talked about women power on many occasions.
