Members of foreign military: Under the Visiting Forces Act, military or civilian personnel stationed in Canada are allowed to work and study without a work or study permit. Their family members can also take advantage of this exemption.
On-campus jobs: Foreign students who come to study in Canada can also work without a work permit. As long as their study permit is valid, they can work in the country. However, it is important to note here that they are only allowed to work within the college campus.
Artists: Artists coming to Canada to perform are also allowed to work without a work permit. News reporters and media crew: Foreign news reporters and their crew are allowed to report on events in Canada without a work permit. This rule applies only to journalists, as their company is not in Canada. If they are working for a Canadian news channel, then they will need a work permit.
