Establishment of CERN
Apart from this, the European Atomic Research Organization (CERN) was established on this day in the year 1954. In fact, CERN was started in the 1950s as the European Organization for Nuclear Research. Today it is also known as the European Laboratory for Particle Physics. It is one of the most prestigious research centers in the world. The work of this research center is to find out how our universe works, where it came from and where it is going. At CERN, some of the world’s largest and most complex machines are used to study nature’s tiniest building blocks, fundamental particles. At the same time, India has become a part of it only a few years ago.
In this great experiment, when the proton and lead ion particles collided with the collider at the speed of light, the primary particle was born. Scientists believe that our universe was made up of these particles after the Big Bang.
