Yamuna Expressway Speed: The maximum speed limit will be reduced to prevent accidents on the Yamuna Expressway due to fog in winter. Yamuna Authority will soon send a letter to Jaypee Infratech. So that the necessary arrangements to reduce the speed limit on the expressway can be completed before December 15.
Accidents are happening continuously on the Yamuna Expressway. Due to low visibility in winter, the possibility of accidents increases. Therefore, the maximum speed limit on the expressway is reduced for two months.
The maximum speed limit for heavy vehicles will be 60 km per hour
The maximum speed limit for light vehicles on the expressway is 100 km per hour and for heavy vehicles it is 80 km per hour. From December 15, the maximum speed limit for light vehicles will be 80 km per hour and for heavy vehicles the maximum speed limit will be 60 km per hour.
This speed limit will remain in force till February 15. On this basis, challan action will be taken against high speed vehicles. Such an order has been implemented to prevent accidents. Authority officials say that a letter will soon be issued to the operating company JP Infratech to reduce the speed limit on Yamuna Expressway in winter.
After receiving the letter from the authority, work will be done on reducing the speed limit.
Drivers are being made aware. Arrangements will be made to inform the drivers through boards, signage and public address system about the reduction in speed limit. JK Sharma, Jewar Toll Plaza Manager on Yamuna Expressway, says that the speed limit is reduced on the expressway every year.
After receiving the letter from the authority, necessary arrangements will be made to reduce the speed limit. Drivers are being made aware to drive within the speed limit through pamphlet distribution and public address system on the expressway.
At the same time, Yamuna Authority’s one-time settlement scheme, also known as OTS scheme. It is ending today. Therefore, all the applicants who want to apply in the scheme should do it by Saturday.
