Amidst the growing cases of corona, the central government has announced to vaccinate all citizens above 18 years of age. A special vaccination campaign will be launched from May 1. Meanwhile, BJP MLA from Gorakhpur, Dr. Radha Mohan Das Aggarwal has questioned the cost of the Kovishield vaccine being offered to the common man. The MLA said in a tweet that there is a big discrepancy in the prices that the vaccine has been asked to make available to the Government of India, the State Government and the common citizens. In his tweet, the BJP MLA even wrote that – ‘You are worse than the dacoits. Your factory should be acquired in the epidemic act.

A doctor by profession, Dr. Radha Mohan Das Aggarwal said that the company has promised to give this vaccine to the Government of India for two hundred rupees, four hundred rupees to the State Government and six hundred rupees to the public. While the company itself has said the cost of the vaccine is Rs 220. When the company can give vaccine to the Government of India for 200 rupees, then why will it give the public six hundred rupees? Should there not be a limit to the earning from the vaccine in this crisis period? Tagging PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP’s National Organization General Secretary BL Santosh and Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, he wrote that such a factory should be acquired in the epidemic act. The legislator said that in the crisis, what profit margin do they need.

Significantly, the Serum Institute in India is producing the Covishield of Astra Zeneca. Adar Poonawala is the CEO of this company. The company has announced the price of its covalent vaccine for state governments and private hospitals in the country. State governments will have to pay Rs 400 per dose of vaccine and Rs 500 to private hospitals. Whereas the company has supplied vaccine at the rate of two hundred rupees to the central government. The company has announced these prices in view of the recent discounts given by the Center to speed up the vaccination campaign in the country. Under the new provisions, vaccine manufacturers and suppliers will sell 50 per cent of their covid vaccine to the center and 50 per cent to state governments and private hospitals in the open market.

All people above 18 years of age will be vaccinated from May 1

The government has decided to intensify the campaign of vaccination in the country from Corona to war. From May 1, all people over the age of 18 will now receive the Corona vaccine. This decision has been taken in a meeting chaired by PM Narendra Modi on Monday. The third round of corona vaccination is being started across the country from May 1, which will also cover the youth. Till now only those over 45 years of age were being vaccinated. However, the Chief Ministers of states like Delhi, Punjab and Maharashtra had also demanded vaccination of the youth.

The decision has been taken after PM Narendra Modi’s brainstorm with top doctors of the country. PM Narendra Modi said that the government has been making efforts for the last one year that more and more Indians in the country can be given the vaccine in the shortest possible time. In this meeting, it has been said to motivate the domestic companies to produce more vaccines. Apart from this, there is talk of approving other Indian and foreign vaccines as well.

State governments will be able to purchase vaccines according to their needs

An important decision has also been made in this meeting that the companies making the vaccine will give 50 per cent of their total production to the state governments, while half the consignments will be able to sell in the open market at a pre-determined price. Not only this, state governments can purchase vaccines directly from companies according to their needs.

Those above 45 years of age will continue to feel vaccinated as before

Apart from this, the state government has made one thing more clear that the vaccination of the people of the pre-decided priority group will continue. Currently, people over the age of 45 are getting vaccinated in government centers and private hospitals.
