In which cases in the order will the character verification be required. This has also been clarified. The headquarters has said in the order that if a person is involved in any criminal act by engaging in any law and order situation, protests, road jams etc. and is charged by the police for this task (charge sheet), then Character verification in this regard will be taken clearly in the (Police Verification Report). Such people will have to be prepared for serious consequences and will not be able to get government jobs, government contracts etc.

Police headquarters has said that the police verification report by the police in relation to any person is a very sensitive document. It is required to be prepared correctly without disturbing the applicant without undue delay. The order states that in respect of cognizable offenses, if a person has been a primary or criminal accused, but has not been chargesheeted after investigation. No comments will be made in the verification report. Also, a person who has been declared a suspect will not be commented. It is clear that the police will not spoil anyone’s character just by being named in the FIR.
