As soon as the news of his death came out, a wave of mourning ran in the music world. According to the information received from Hussain’s family, he died due to idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
He was admitted to the hospital for the last two weeks due to this disease. Later, when his condition worsened, he was shifted to the ICU. Where his health kept deteriorating further.

Zakir Hussain was born on 9 March 1951 in Mumbai. His father was the great tabla player Ustad Allah Rakha Qureshi. His mother’s name was Biwi Begum.
