Zomato and Swiggy will not deliver food after 8 pm, effect of new lockdown

The night curfew will run from 8 am to 7 pm Monday to Friday. Both Jomato and Swiggy are following the government’s orders in this regard. However, this new lockdown will continue until April 30.

The state government has imposed a strict lockdown in view of the increasing cases of corona virus epidemic in Maharashtra, due to which food delivery apps like Zomato and Swiggy have stopped taking orders after 8 pm. Both these apps sent a notification to their users on the first day of the Night Corfue on April 5 to place all their orders before 8 pm, so that food could be delivered to them as soon as possible. Both Swiggy and Jomato have told their users via message that they will not receive any order after 8 pm.

In Mumbai, both Zomato and Swiggy have been given an in-app message, providing information that the company will not accept orders after 8 pm. If you order food through Zomato after 8 pm, you will see the message, “We’re currently not accepting orders online.” We’ll be back soon. ” At the same time, Swiggy’s message reads, “We are not delivering here at the moment!”.




This new step of both food delivery apps has been taken under the new lockdown guidelines issued by the Maharashtra government. Talking of the rising corona virus case in Maharashtra, this number has crossed 47,000. The number crossed 11,000 on Sunday in Mumbai, the highest figure since the outbreak of the epidemic. In view of the increasing case, the Maharashtra government has announced a night curfew, along with a complete lockdown will be imposed on the weekend. Talking about the night curfew, it will run from 8 am to 7 am. Both Jomato and Swiggy are following the government’s orders in this regard. However, this new lockdown will continue until April 30.

The government notification states, “Take-away orders, parcels and home delivery services will be operational from 7 am to 8 pm Monday to Friday. Only home delivery service will be allowed between 7 am and 8 am on weekends …. It will not be valid to go to any restaurant or bar for ordering or pickup. ”

The government has started the vaccination process for people aged 45 years and above. For this, users will have to register themselves by visiting the CoWIN portal and then go to their nearest center and get vaccinated. There will be a charge of Rs 250 for vaccinations in private hospitals, while free vaccinations are being given in government hospitals.
